Rompin' Around

Rompers, or jumpsuits, are a one-and-done deal. You throw it on, and your outfit is complete.

I was a little apprehensive of this trend at first. I have a somewhat long torso, and was concerned if I wore a romper I would sport a pretty significant camel toe.

I tried on a bunch of different styles, and finally found one that was right for me. I'm not a fan of my proportions in a short romper, so the long pant jumpsuit is my romper of choice. Do you have any of these one-piece ensembles? Where did you find it?!

Here's the romper I got myself, as well as a couple cool styles I found at some of my favorite shopping spots :)

So myself and my co-worker Julia showed up in similar ensembles this week. They say
great minds think alike, right? LOFT, $89.50

This strapless romper, also from LOFT, has an intricate pattern and a bow
at the waist. I think this one would be perfect for a walk on the beach at sunset. LOFT, $89.50

I just want to put this on and go to an outdoor music festival. I think it would be fitting.
Forever 21, $14.80

I'm loving the southwestern print on this romper. I'd probably pair a longer
statement necklace with it, maybe in a bright turquoise, to add an unexpected
pop of color. Forever 21, $17.80

All black everything. Easy to accessorize. Belt it, or layer on a bunch of necklaces
and you're ready to go. Free People, $88

There's a 70's vibe coming from this one, and I love it. From the pattern, the
flared leg, the deep v-neck front and halter back tie, this jumpsuit
is groovy, baby. Free People, $168

New Finds from J. Crew

Sometimes, you just have to treat yourself to a little shopping spree at the Outlets.

The J.Crew Factory Store is arguably one of my biggest weaknesses. I can do a LOT of damage there, so trips to the store require self-control and a budget.

Here's what I picked up when I stopped by earlier in the week.

1) This striped dress in a linen-cotton blend is perfect for a gal on the go.  It's easy to throw on and dress up or dress down, depending on where you're headed. I'm thinking it will make a guest appearance as my 4th of July outfit :)

It's sold out online, but here are some other similar effortless dress options.

2) I love this color, and I love to layer sheer sweaters in the summer. I think it will be cute with some white pants, and maybe a gold sandal. Or.... I really love this color paired with navy. Want it? Get it here.

3) Stripes are a summer essential, and a good cardi should never be passed up. This summer weight knit material is perfect to throw on when the temp cools down after a day out in the sun. Want it? Get it here.

Dress Obsessed: Maxed Out

Maxi dresses are my newest obsession. Why? See below:

1) They're comfortable.
2) Given the right fabric and fit, maxi dresses are figure-flattering.
3) They are a whole outfit in one! Add some jewelry and a cute pair of wedges or sandals and you're good to go.
4) I'm pretty sure maxi dresses are the closest thing to pajamas you can get away with wearing at work... without actually showing up in your favorite pair of sweats and sorority tee shirt.
5) Another benefit? You don't have to shave your legs that day. (Don't lie, you know you've considered this!)

I've scoured the websites of my fave retailers, and compiled some of my favorite maxi looks for summer.

The vibrant colors and patterns on this maxi dress make it the perfect frock
for an outdoor festival.

Criss-cross straps and corset back detail add a unique finish to this dress.
Tarana Maxi Dress, Anthropologie, $168

For a summer wedding, or a date night with your beau, this maxi dress
with cascading ruffles is stunning.

The cutout detail on the back is lovely. Ruffle Stream Maxi, Anthropologie, $298

I absolutely love this dress (I have it)! The fun Aztec-inspired pattern is what originally
caught my attention. I've worn it with both flats and wedges.

Wore this dress to work the same day as my friend Danielle. I paired it with a
denim jacket, while she chose a pink cardi. Both work-- this dress is super versatile!
Resort Border Print Maxi Dress, LOFT, $89.50

This is my favorite maxi dress of the season so far (I own this one too)! What I love most is
the comfy knit material. It's so soft! The straps criss-cross in the back giving it a
little flirty touch.
Diamond Print Criss Cross Back Maxi Dress, LOFT, $89.50

This strapless maxi with drawstring waist the perfect dress to bring to the beach.
Whether you're wearing it as a bathing suit cover-up, or just throwing it on to run errands, the
splatter print makes it a fun choice for summer!
Splatter Print Strapless Maxi Dress, Gap, $74.95

What I love about this dress is its simplicity. The navy and white colors have
a nautical feel, and the asymmetric stripes are visually interesting. I wouldn't pair
it with nude heels like they did on the Macy's website, though. To me, this dress is
more suited for casual wedges or bright sandals to add a pop of color.
Kensie Sleeveless Striped Maxi, Macy's, $44.99

Do you like maxi dresses? Have a favorite one this summer? If so, how do you style your maxi dress?

Brand New Baubles

When it comes to necklaces, I've got a serious weakness.

At stores, at the mall, wherever I am.. when I see one that catches my eye, I have to try it on. Inevitably, I like it, so I justify why I need it and what I'd wear it with.

I've recently added a couple new baubles to my collection:

Here's where I got them:
Photo 1: Mineral Red Seed Bead Necklace, LOFT, $39.50; Long Bauble and Fireball Wooden Necklace, LOFT, $39.50 (Primrose Yellow)
Photo 2: Custom Monogram Necklace, South Moon Under, $220 (Takes 8 weeks!)
Photo 3: Long Bauble and Fireball Wooden Necklace, LOFT, $39.50 (Bliss Blue)
Photo 4: Pearls of Love Necklace, Dogeared, $44

How about you... any new necklaces you recently picked up?! Do tell!
